A week in the north; a week in Tuscany.... Woo Hoo!
So we have arrived in Italy- Valdengo to be exact right outside of Biella in the Piemonte area. We are staying in the most beautiful B & B owned by one of David’s distant Aimone cousins. Guess he may have a lot of family here. I won’t bore you with the details of the long flight, no sleep and the drive here. But suffice it to say the flight was long but good with of course no sleep during it but Delta was good about food, movies and Hot towels- a good addition.
We have rented a little Fiat 500 that is a standard so in addition to no sleep, a foreign language David also had to content with a shift driving here. He only stalled out once trying to get through a toll booth- this did bring laughter from Ellen. And we got to see the same stretch of highway several times since the GPS was a bit confusing. Finally off the highway we ended up going through every little village to get here- the Italians really like rotaries- there must have been one every mile of so. But we made it to a little bit of paradise right here in a quiet area up the hill.
We are still a bit jet lagged but that should leave us after tonight. It is Monday afternoon now as I write, sitting out on the terrace overlooking the garden. Later on one of David’s many FB friends will be coming to take us out to dinner. Our hosts have been lovely bringing us earlier a repast of coffee, fruit and biscuits. Looking forward to exploring more tomorrow. Till next time....
By the way, our internet here is spotty, so we will add more entries and photos when we can! — David

Waiting for our overnight flight at JFK. We board in about one hour.
I promise the future images and messages will be more exciting!!! LOL!
First, we fly into Milan early on monday morning, September 29th, and drive to Il Talucco in Valdengo, in Piemonte near Biella...
We stay there until Saturday morning (with one night, Thursday, in Campertogno), and then we drive via the Mediterranean coast to our villa outside of Florence in Tuscany. We stay there for one week, and the following saturday we visit friends outside of Lugano, Switzerland.
Then we return out of Milan on monday, October 13th.
